Message from Uncle Jeffrey of KL Ampang Methodist to Uncle Teik Oon.

I'm so happy with you and your team.
We rejoice with all of you.
Hope that more will have the heart for the
orang asli people to reach out to them.
This is our countryman who also need the gospel.
Thank you.

Insight

well, when i think there are many insights during the whole time there...
but the most insightful thing to me was how serious the children were towards everything..
for instance, when they prayed they actually squeezed their eyes and concentrated without fail..
if it was me, my eyes would be wandering the time the prayer gets to the 3rd line...sigh...
we taught them so much.. lets learn from them too...its going to be difficult...

Works in orang asli settlement

Nine of us (Uncle Teik Oon, Peng gor gor, Chin Ai, Shu Wei, Shin Yi, Shu-Yan, Ali, Seline and Jennifer) joined Uncle Jeffrey's team
to do God's works in an orang asli settlement today.
We started our journey to Tapah at 7.30am.
When we reached there around 9am, their service had already started.
We sang 2 Malay songs with them.
Although it's new to us but we managed to follow.
Then we sang 2 more songs (As the deer & Time's of refreshing in Malay)
before having communion, which was very simple.

It's different from our own church
as they only have
a piece of biscuit and a few cups of 'wine'.
We learned about sharing from this 'cause
everyone
shared the small piece of biscuit and passed it around.
And as there was shortage of cup
s,
they sipped straight fro
m the container and passed it on.
Next Uncle Amos shared on 1 Corinthians 12:1-11.
The service ended at around 10.15am.

The Sunday School started at 10.30am
when all the children from the 3 Kampungs arrived.
They were as many as 60 of them, all eager to learn new things from us.
We started with praise & worship.
They knew the first song, Hari Ini.

Next 2 songs were unfamiliar to them.
So we taught them Dalam Nama Yesus and Dekat padaMu.
Uncle Teik Oon made it more fun by teaching them
Marina Menari di Menara.

After that, it was games time!

I was kind of nervous as there were so many of them.
But all the smiles on their faces helped me through.
They were divided into 4 groups.
Bulan, Beauty, K
L Plus and King Star.

The 1st game we had w
as follow the leader.
Members were blind-folded and they had to follow their leaders
based only on their voices in order to reached the other side.
Uncle Teik Oon added some spices by changing the places of the leaders
so the members would have to listen really hard for their voices.
The next game was to teach them about the creation of God.
We modified 1 2 ju
s into beruang ikan nyamuk.
And we awarded sweets to the
winners.

The games finished at about 12am.
Then we ended the Sunday School with praise & worship
and some refreshments
and snacks.
The children were dism
issed after that but many hung around with us.
We also chatted with the teachers while indulging ourselves in durians!
They gave us bunches of the doesn't-smell-good-but-tasty petai too! :)

We managed to take some pictures of the kids before leaving.

4 of us - Tsu Wei, Ali, Seline and Kok :)

I would say that trip was a success.
Praise God!
We enjoyed ourselves while learning a lot from them.

More pictures and videos will be updated next time!
